Praying for the Stars

I'm not a huge fan of reality shows.  In fact, I decided a couple of years ago to never watch American Idol again because of how easy it is to make fun of the contestants.  But this year I have started watching it again with Nathan and kinda my niece, Taylor.  Taylor and I e-mail about our favorites but its never negative. I enjoy watching it by myself or others that encourage and don't just make fun the whole time. I am amazed at how much courage these people have to sing in front of all those people.
Dancing with the Stars is my all time favorite show to watch.  I wish I could become a star so that I can be on that show.  I feel like it makes the stars more real to us normal folk.  Not all of them have the ability to dance. Some learn and some struggle but they are totally real on that show.
With that said, I've been on a recent kick.  I really feel like we should be praying for all these stars that are struggling.  Its so easy to just make fun of them for some reason that I'm not sure of.  Britney Spears is often in the news and whether its true or not, whether she has brought this on herself or not, why we don't lift her up is beyond me.  I'm positive that if I had the same struggles that the stars do, I would be prayed for and loved on.
Jesus says a lot in 1John 3 that we should love everyone, no matter who they are or what they have done.  In my 27 years of life I have been shown so much love from people I am close to and some I don't know.  Why not share our love with anyone who's hurting?
That was just on my mind and I thought I'd share.
Thank you so much to everyone who has ever loved on me.

More on Mandy

Well I just got word that Mandy did not receive the liver.  It went to the number 1 person who apparently really needed it.  I pray for that family that they may have peace and that person will be on the road to recovery soon. What a day of waiting!  I only know Mandy through Angie, but I wanted the liver to go to her so bad.
We will just have to pray that she can receive another offer soon and that God will give them peace of mind after a disappointing night.

Waiting on Mandy...

We have become really close with Angie and Jeremy Partain over the past few months.  They have two boys, Cooper and Sawyer(in the previous post) and one on the way.
Angie has a sister in Washington who is on a list to receive a liver transplant.  Recently, Mandy, has become more in need of the liver and today she got "the call." I have been bugging Angie all day to get updates on how Mandy is doing and how the process is going.  She is now in the hospital but still waiting to get word on if she gets the liver or not.  Mandy is number 2 on the list so it still could possibly go to the number 1 person.  I have been praying all day for her and the Partains.  I know that God has his hand in this and everything will work out, but I have become antsy.
If you get a chance please pray for Mandy's health and for peace for her family.
I just got a text from Angie and they are just now harvesting the organs so we will have to wait another 5 or 6 hours. Nathan and I have a road trip package on stand by for them just in case they get the call to go to Seattle. I pray that they will be on their way soon.

Sawyer is 2...

Our friend's son Sawyer turned 2 last week here is some fun with bubbles.  Nathan and I got the big punching bag, it was a hit.

March Maddness

We haven't had snow in a while but this is what it looked like when I took Nathan to school tonight. I thought winter was over here. I'm not complaining cause we are going skiing on Thursday!

Just some random updates...

This is the first time in a week that I have been on the internet. As most of you know we don't have the internet at our house so I have to come to school to check things out.
I started working at the Break Espresso in the Bakery. I really love it. My hours are very early but I am done by 10 a.m. I totally enjoy baking and for the first time ever this is a job that I love. I am still trying to figure out a sleep schedule. I hate to take naps when Nate is home because I want to hang out with him. We'll get the kinks worked out.
My family just had a weekend with Alex in Chicago. I was pretty bummed that we didn't get to go but very glad that Myra got to see Chicago and Alex got to see Morgandy. She is so cute!
Nathan is frustrated in trying to work on his paper. He has made some progress lately but the motivation and help hasn't stepped up yet. I know he will do great on it. He is teaching ping pong and enjoys that. We played the other day but I am no match for someone with a medal in ping pong.
We are both busy but finding time to be together still. We made a bet today(an idea from some friends). We each have $15.00 and whoever can keep it the longest wins. The loser has to plan a date night. Those of you who know Nathan know that he is a pleasure delayer, and stubborn. If you know me than you know I like to win and I too am stubborn. My guess is that this is going to last about 10 years.
Anyone want to vote on who they think will win and why...

One more thing...

I forgot to mention that Nathan and I rearranged our house yesterday. It looks great and as soon as I vacuum I will post before and after pictures. For those of you who have seen our place you will be very impressed. We don't have a ton of options.

Our trip home from Missouri

We had a great Christmas break and I'm for one was not ready to come back just yet. Here are some fun pictures taken in Chicago with Alex and in Whitefish, Mt.
I will try to explain them in order...
Alex in the rainforest of Union Station
Me in a locker at Union Station, Nathan looks like he is going to shut me in.
Me and Alex in front of the Opera Building
and finally our car in Whitefish after being gone for a month.

the moment giver

I just watched Princess Dairies 2 with my niece Kiersten. Its a cute movie. My favorite part is when they are in a parade and the Princess gives orphans a moment. She lets them be in the parade with her as princesses.
So I decided thats is what I want to do with my life. I want to be a moment giver. Unfortunately this is not a real job. So I guess I will have to it at any moment I have.

Adam's Birthday

Yesterday, January 8th, was my cousin Adam's birthday. Last year we spent the day at the Haven celebrating. The Haven is a great restuarant on the Nile river run by a German guy. It doesn't seem that long ago to me.
For 7 more days I will have memories of Adam from just a year ago. January 17th I won't have that anymore. I'll only have memories from the past years, which I don't remember a lot. Its come so fast and a lot has happened this year. I guess we'll just make good out of what we can.
My Uncle Terry is still in the hospital recovering from surgery. He had his prostate removed Monday. They thought he would make it home today but he has lost some blood and has to have a transfusion today. Hopefully tomorrow he will be back in his home.
Yesterday, I got a call from my brother, Alex. He broke his nose at play practice while catching another cast member. He got it set and says it looks pretty straight. What a day!
Nathan and I will be returning to Missoula next week after being gone for 4 weeks. We look forward to it but will miss the great times we had with our families.
Please keep my family in your prayers.

Make em' fly boys!

Nathan and I shot clay pigeons with Adam yesterday.  It was so much fun.  I got two and a nice bruise.  Nathan shot pretty much all of them.  Also I put in one of the clay things that I shot. I loved it and will take it up when I heal.

So I've been thinking...

Last night I tried to stay awake until Nathan fell asleep.  Which for me can be hard. Usually I'm asleep before my head hits the pillow.  So last night I tried hard to keep my eyes open and concentrate on prayer while my sweet husband fell asleep.  I got a lot done this way, although I have to admit I was hoping he would sleep fast so I could start my slumber.
I've had a main prayer lately for me to speak with a purpose.  Its not something I'm great at. But today I think God told me something that will help me.  I need to stop assuming.  I think everyone does this a lot.  We assume somebody says something or that they will act some way.  I'm not sure where this comes from, but I plan to only assume the best.  I assume that I will do good with this new life lesson.

Merry Christmas!

Nathan and I have been talking about how it doesn't really seem like Christmas here. Not many people decorate up here. And no one really talks about Christmas time. Today in our high school bible class we were going to have the kids tell us the Christmas story. But that didn't help much either, it was interesting. But then it started to snow, a lot. Nathan asked me if the snow helped and I started to say yes, but actually the majority of my life has been without snow around Christmas time. Some people in our small group told us about a great house that goes all out. So we drove by and it was amazing. But I'm still not quite there yet. Nathan suggested that tomorrow at school I tell people Merry Christmas! So I'm practicing on you. Merry Christmas.
